Itinerary

Hotel Pickup in Cusco's Historic Center
We will start this day's tour very early in the morning. Our guide will pick us up at the hotel in Cusco’s historic center between 03:00 AM and 06:00 AM, depending on availability. We’ll board our tourist transport and head south toward Cusipata.
Trip to Cusipata and Buffet Breakfast
After a 1 hour and 30 minute drive, we will reach Cusipata. Here, we will enjoy a traditional Andean buffet breakfast to recharge energy. Along the way, we will see rivers, green valleys, small Andean towns, and perhaps llamas and alpacas near the road.
Kayrahuire Alto and ATV Practice
At Kayrahuire Alto (4,450 m.a.s.l.), we will meet our guide for a security briefing. We’ll practice riding the ATVs in a safe area before beginning the main adventure. All equipment and instructions will be provided.
ATV Ride to Vinicunca
We will begin our ATV ride toward Rainbow Mountain. The exclusive route takes us near the sacred Apu Ausangate, with snow-capped peaks and colorful valleys along the way. The round trip on ATVs lasts between 30 minutes to 1 hour.
Final Hike and Visit to the Vinicunca Viewpoint
From the closest stop, we will hike between 5 and 10 minutes to the viewpoint. At 5,036 meters, we’ll enjoy about 40 minutes to admire Rainbow Mountain’s red, yellow, and turquoise stripes. We’ll take photos, rest, and immerse in the unique Andean scenery.
ATV Descent and Return to Cusipata
We’ll descend back to Kayrahuire Alto by ATV, then take our bus to Cusipata. Here, we will enjoy a buffet lunch with traditional Andean dishes, including vegetarian options, before our return trip.
Return to Cusco
In the afternoon, we’ll return to Cusco in our tourist transport. The journey takes about 2 hours. The tour ends at Plaza Regocijo, just a few steps from the Plaza de Armas.
